Guernsey based Aladdin's Cave expands
Aladdin’s Cave has become the biggest independent toy retailer
in the Channel Islands following its acquisition of Jersey-based A Hundred
and One Toys.
The 7,000 square feet flagship outlet on St Helier, will remain trading
as 101 Toys, with a significant part of the existing management team continuing
to run the day-to-day operation of the business. The family-owned firm
is the largest toy retailer on Guernsey.
“It is very much business as usual. The only things customers will see
are more great offers, exciting ideas for ranges and more promotions,”
said Jason Mahy, joint-MD of Aladdin’s Cave. “We will be aiming to provide
customers with an even bigger range of quality products at even better
value-for-money.”
"Our whole philosophy is if we get better prices from our suppliers
we pass that saving onto our customers," added Rob Edwards, the retailer’s
other joint-managing director.
Chris Lagadu, 101 Toys General Manager, concluded: “By combining the
considerable buying power of Aladdin’s Cave with the exceptional customer
service provided by the existing staff we are confident that 101 Toys will
remain the number one toy shop in Jersey.”
